                     अपना रास्ता खुद चुने

एक छोटे से गाँव में भोलू नाम का एक गधा रहता था। वह गाँव बाकी दुनिया से बिलकुल कटा हुआ था, न वहां कोई आता था और न वहां से कोई कहीं जाता था।

एक बार गधे ने सोचा क्यों ना जंगल के उस पार जाकर देखा जाए कि आखिर उस तरफ है क्या?

अगले दिन भोर में ही वह जंगल की ओर बढ़ चला।

जंगल घना था और गधा मूर्ख। बिना सोचे समझे उसे जिधर मन करता उधर चल पड़ता। जैसे-तैसे करके उसने जंगल पार किया और दूसरी छोर पर स्थित एक और गाँव पहुँच गया।

उधर गाँव में हल्ला मच गया कि भोलू गधा गाँव छोड़ कर चला गया है, सब बात करने लगे कि वो कितना भाग्यशाली है, और अब कितनी आराम की ज़िन्दगी जी रहा होगा। लोगों की बात सुनकर कुत्तों  के एक झुण्ड ने भी जंगल पार करने का निश्चय किया।

अगली सुबह वह गधे की गंध का पीछा करते हुए उसी रास्ते से जंगल के उस पार चले गए।

फिर क्या था, गाँव के अन्य पशुओं में भी जंगल पार करने की होड़ सी लग गयी और सभी गधे द्वारा खोजे गए रास्ते पर चलते हुए जंगल पार करने लगे।

बार-बार उस रास्ते पर चलने से एक पगडण्डी सी बन गयी और कुछ सालों बाद इंसान भी उसी रास्ते को पकड़ कर जंगल पार करने लगे । समय बीतता गया और धीरे-धीरे  गाँव की आबादी काफी बढ़ गयी। तब सरकार ने जंगल पार करने के लिए एक रोड बनाने का निर्णय लिया गया।

शहर से इंजीनियरों का एक दल आया और इलाके की स्टडी करने लगा।

गाँव वालों ने बताया कि जंगल पार करने के लिए एक पगडण्डी बनी हुई है उसी पर अगर रोड बना दी जाए तो अच्छा रहेगा।

उनकी बात सुनकर चीफ इंजीनियर थोडा मुस्कुराया और बोला, “ क्या मैं जान सकता हूँ ये पगडण्डी किसने बनायी ?”

गाँव के एक बुजुर्ग बोले, “जहाँ तक मुझे पता है ये रास्ता किसी गधे ने खोजा था !”, और उसने पूरी कहानी कह सुनाई ।

उनकी बात सुनने के बाद चीफ इंजीनियर बोले, “मुझे यकीन नहीं होता कि आप सब इंसान होंते हुए भी इतने सालों से एक गधे के बनाये रास्ते पर चल रहे थे…पता है ये रास्ता कितना कठिन और लम्बा है जबकि हमने जो रास्ता खोजा है वो इसका एक चौथाई भी नहीं है और उसे पार करना भी कहीं आसान है। ”

आज गाँव वालों को अपनी गलती का एहसास हो रहा था, वे सोच रहे थे कि काश उन्होंने एक नया रास्ता खोजने का प्रयास किया होता!

मित्रों, जो गलती उन गाँव वालों ने की कहीं वही गलती हम भी तो नहीं कर रहे हैं? कहीं हम किसी गधे के दिखाए रास्ते पर चल कर अपना जीवन बर्वाद तो नहीं कर रहे हैं? क्या आज हम जो भी काम या पढाई कर रहे हैं वो हमारे अपने रूचि के मुताबिक है या बस समाज और घरवालों के दबाव में हम अपना रास्ता ढूँढने से हिचक रहे हैं? कहीं हमें भी अपना रास्ता खोजने की ज़रुरत तो नहीं?

अगर हमे एक मतलब भरा जीवन जीना है तो हमें इन प्रश्नों का उत्तर देना होगा, वरना उस इंजीनियर की तरह एक दिन हमें भी कोई मिलेगा और बताएगा कि हमने अपना पूरा जीवन एक गधे का रास्ता पकड़े-पकड़े बरबाद  कर दीया।

 In a small village there lived a donkey named Bholu.  The village was completely cut off from the rest of the world, neither did anyone come there nor did anyone go anywhere.

 Once donkey thought why not go to the other side of the forest and see if it is on that side?

 The next day at dawn, he moved towards the forest.

 The forest was dense and the donkey stupid.  Without thinking he would walk wherever he wanted.  As he passed, he crossed the forest and reached another village at the other end.

 On the other hand, there was a stir in the village that Bholu Donkey has left the village, everyone started talking about how lucky he is, and how much life he must have been living now.  Hearing the talk of the people, a group of dogs also decided to cross the forest.

 The next morning he went across the forest by the same path, chasing the smell of the donkey.

 Then what happened was that other animals in the village also vied to cross the forest and all started crossing the forest on the path discovered by donkeys.

 Repeatedly walking on that path became a footpath, and after a few years, humans also started crossing the forest by catching the same path.  Time passed and gradually the population of the village increased considerably.  Then the government decided to build a road to cross the forest.

 A team of engineers came from the city and started studying the area.

 The villagers told that a footpath has been built to cross the forest, if a road is built on it, it would be good.

 On hearing this, the Chief Engineer smiled a little and said, "Can I know who made this turban?"

 One of the village elders said, "As far as I know, this path was discovered by some donkey!", And he told the whole story.

 After listening to him, the Chief Engineer said, "I don't believe that despite all of you being a human being, you were walking on the path of a donkey for so many years ... You know how difficult and long this path is, whereas the path we have found is that  There is not even a quarter of it and it is even easier to cross it.  "

 Today the villagers were realizing their mistake, thinking that they wish they had tried to find a new way!

 Friends, are we also making the same mistake that those villagers made?  Are we going to waste our lives by walking on the path shown by some donkey?  Is the work or study we are doing today as per our own interest or are we hesitant to find our way under pressure from society and family members?  Do we even need to find our way?

 If we want to live a meaningful life, then we have to answer these questions, otherwise one day like that engineer, we too will find someone and tell that we have wasted our whole life by holding a donkey's way.
